NFL fantasy football 2020 mock drafts are here with a few experts already weighing in. Realistically, these are sort of useful for the first two rounds, but anything past that just become total crapshoots. Until the NFL draft is behind us, it’s difficult to see the big picture clearly.
Bleacher Report, Rotoballer and whatever the hell this is all did NFL fantasy football 2020 mock drafts, so let’s take a look and see if there is anything we can learn.

1) Michael Thomas is a likely top-3 pick
Christian McCaffrey will be the first overall pick in most fantasy leagues barring injury. After that, things get interesting. One name to watch is Michael Thomas. He’s led the league in catches the past two seasons, missed only one game in his entire career and has never been targeted less than 120 times in a season. He went second, third and seventh in the expert NFL fantasy football 2020 mock drafts.
The Saints did sign Emmanuel Sanders, but it seems unlikely that will significantly cut into Thomas’ target share. If Sanders took all of Ted Ginn’s workload, plus half of what Taysom Hill got and 30 targets from Thomas, that would be almost 100 looks for the former Bronco right there. And Thomas would still be getting more than 150 targets. It has been a while since a wide receiver went in the top three, but Thomas could be the safest first round pick out there this season.
2) Someone is taking Lamar Jackson in the 1st Round
In two out of the three NFL fantasy football 2020 mock drafts, someone grabbed Lamar Jackson in the first round. The hype train has already left the station for the NFL MVP. Here’s the thing, most leagues probably already have a guy itching to grab Jackson in the first round. You know the one. The manager that buys into hype like this to justify questionable decisions.
3) Kenyan Drake will burn people again
Last year, Kenyan Drake was a June and July darling of the fantasy football community. He was a running back with perceived volume and RB1 upside. And then the season started, he did nothing and was dropped by numerous managers. A trade to Arizona allowed Drake to flash, but also proved what we already know; He’s consistently inconsistent.
Yet, he went ahead of Austin Ekeler in two of the three NFL fantasy football 2020 mock drafts and was picked ahead of Devin Singletary in all three. Drafting Drake in the second round seems incredibly risky. Yet there he is being picked in the late second round of early mock drafts.
