People are bragging about drafting guys like Bryan Edwards and Ke'Shawn Vaughn

Everyone wants to brag about their fantasy football late round lottery tickets. And the earlier you draft, the more you have to deal with this nonsense. All other managers in your league want to do is brag about how some third stringer they selected in the 15th round is going to deliver the goods in 2021.

They almost always don’t. Hell, when you look at the guys who came out of nowhere in 2020, they weren’t even drafted. James Robinson and Myles Gaskin were complete afterthoughts in the fantasy football community during draft season.

The thing is, that people are actively passing on possibly relevant players in order to snatch up fantasy football late round lottery tickets. Don’t fall into that trap and avoid these five guys.

5 fantasy football late round lottery tickets to avoid

1) Ke’Shawn Vaughn / RB / Tampa Bay

No matter how hard fantasy football people on Twitter try to make Ke’Shawn Vaughn a thing, he has no path to fantasy relevance with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s the fourth string running back with a coach who doesn’t seem to think all that highly of him. If Vaughn was even remotely good, why did the Bucs bring in Giovani Bernard?

2) Nico Collins / WR / Houston Texans

Nico Collins has an amazing athletic profile and is playing for a team with plenty available targets. That phrase also described Miles Boykin who has done next to nothing in the NFL. In fact, Collins and Boykin have very similar testing numbers as well. Maybe Collins can deliver this season in a way that Boykin never has. But there is no reason to lock him down in the draft.

3) Bryan Edwards / WR / Las Vegas Raiders

Jon Gruden should not be allowed to draft wide receivers. His track record is awful, and you shouldn’t be tricked into thinking Bryan Edwards will bounce back after a lame rookie campaign.

4) Le’Veon Bell / RB / Free Agent

It baffles me that Le’Veon Bell is one of the hottest fantasy football late round lottery tickets. Has no one watched him play since leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers? He looks completely done. And that doesn’t even factor in his attitude which kept him behind Darrel Williams in Kansas City. What’s the upside here? Superman does that thing where he flies around the world and time reverses? Because that’s the only way Bell becomes fantasy relevant in 2021.

5) Any Atlanta Falcons’ RB behind Mike Davis

Apparently, the Atlanta Falcons are a hotbed for running backs because everyone wants one of their backups. I’ve seen Javian Hawkins, Qadree Ollison and Cordarrelle Patterson all go in 12-team drafts. Sure, the team has a new coaching staff, but let’s not pretend any of these guys are going to put up numbers if Mike Davis gets hurt.
