Why are the Houston Rockets wearing blue jerseys is a question a lot of people are asking themselves. Earlier in the season, there was a game between the Sacramento Kings and Houston that was maybe the most baffling thing ever. The Kings, a team normally associated with light blue, were wearing black. And the Rockets were rocking light blue uniforms, a color they have never been known for.
The John Wall-led side has busted out these monstrosities several more times this season, leaving everyone confused.
So, why are the Houston Rockets wearing blue jerseys?

I don’t know what the hell that was. But we all know what the Rockets blue jerseys are inspired by…the Houston Oilers. These are clearly a nod to the Oilers even though it has never been confirmed by the team outright. What else in Houston is notorious for this shade of light blue? Apparently, the sky and flooding if you watch that video.
These uniforms are so dumb. Firstly, the Rockets have no connection to light blue. The team just looks so weird and generic when they wear them. Secondly, the Oilers are gone and not coming back. In fact, they were actually replaced by the Houston Texans almost 20 years ago. And they don’t even throwback to the Oilers.
Since Nike seems hellbent on creating ridiculous uniforms for NBA teams, here are some stupid ideas they may want to consider.
