College Football Week 5 Parlay
People are hyping Florida, but Kentucky is a very tough out in the SEC

Some weeks don’t go your way. Last Saturday saw two of our picks lose in overtime with a third, Wyoming, crapping the bed against UConn. Seriously, who envisioned that happened? One thing that is predictable is the release of our college football week 5 parlay.

We are going big this time around with a pair of SEC underdogs. You’ll see a lot of betting sites play it safe with layups, especially when it comes to college football. That’s not our style. If our picks crash, at least they will do so spectacularly.

Without further ado, here is The Touchback’s college football week 5 parlay. There is a lot of risk with a $10 wager winning more than $450. Odds via Fanduel Sportsbook.

The Touchback’s College Football Week 5 Parlay

Michigan (-106) at Wisconsin

Sportsbooks basically view this as a tossup with Wisconsin being offered at -114. That probably has more to do with Michigan struggling at home against a scrappy Rutgers team more than anything else. On the other hand, Wisconsin is 1-2 but those two losses have come against Penn State and Notre Dame, a pair of top-20 schools.

The easy thing here would be to predict a Wolverines choke job, but the Badgers offense has been dreadful in 2021. They are turning the ball over a ton, and this shapes up as a very winnable contest for Jim Harbaugh even if they aren’t the favorites.

Florida at Kentucky (+270)

Kentucky continues to be the most underrated program in college football. Mark Stoops just wins football games. Meanwhile, Florida is seemingly overrated because they kind of hung tough against Alabama. The Gators have quarterback issues, and it remains to be seen if they’re prepared for the kind of physicality the Wildcats are going to bring.

Being amped up for a home game versus the Crimson Tide is one thing. Staying focused for a trip to Lexington is totally different. Sure, Dan Mullen could have his team ready to play, but the odds here make Big Blue our pick.

Mississippi State (+240) at Texas A&M

Texas A&M has no offense with Zach Calzada at quarterback. I don’t really know why Mississippi State is getting +240 here. Their defense isn’t great but can handle what the Aggies will throw their way on Saturday. There is always an element of uncertainty when betting on a game with Mike Leach involved, but this is a no-brainer.

New Mexico State -27.5 (-110) at San Jose State

Look, I like San Jose State, but everything surrounding this matchup screams take New Mexico State to cover. For starters, the Aggies haven’t lost a game by more than 27 points this season. Meanwhile, the Spartans have yet to score more than 17 points against FBS competition. They will win this, but it’s hard seeing them doing so by four touchdowns.

Our college football week 5 parlay is nothing but risk. It’s measured risk in that there are no random underdogs to prop things up. But still, the probability of going 0-4 this time around is high.
