Jonathan Taylor’s handcuff is nominally Zack Moss who the team acquired in the Nyheim Hines trade last season. He broke his arm during training camp and faces a rush to get healthy before the season starts.

Deon Jackson is also still around. The former Duke Blue Devil had one massive performance against Jacksonville but was otherwise unremarkable last season.

The team recently signed perpetual bust Kenyan Drake. This will be his fourth team in four seasons and is a longshot to make the Colts roster. That being said, you can also never count him out.

Is Jonathan Taylor’s handcuff worth stashing?

Jonathan Taylor’s handcuff is worth owning given the ongoing uncertainty around his situation with the team. Especially if you do draft him in 2023. At worst, you have some insurance. However, there is also the chance Taylor is traded and you end up with two starting running backs.

Moss remains the favorite to backup even with his injury. That being said, it is hard to gauge how the new Indianapolis Colts coaching staff views all three players. There is a chance they prefer Jackson or even Drake.

No matter who ends up backing up Taylor, that running back should be on a fantasy football roster given the volatility of his current situation. Of course, if Taylor gets a new deal, that player can safely be cut.
