Aaron Rodgers without Davante Adams
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are 6-0 without Davante Adams during the past two seasons

This may come as a surprise, but Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have fared pretty well without Davante Adams. That’s actually an understatement. The team is a perfect 6-0 when their star wide receiver is out of the lineup over the past two seasons.

We’re going to say this now before someone tries to warp our words. In no way, shape or form are we saying the Packers are a better team without Adams in the lineup. But Rodgers and his supporting cast have stepped up when their top pass catcher is out.

What most people, especially fantasy football managers, want to know is how does Aaron Rodgers perform without Davante Adams? Long story short, he hasn’t really suffered a huge drop off. And it’s not like this is a small sample size either. Jake from State Farm’s nemesis didn’t have his top wideout for two games last season and four in 2019.

What happens when Aaron Rodgers is without Davante Adams?

The only real clunker Aaron Rodgers has posted without Davante Adams is that week 5 showdown against the Dallas Cowboys in 2019. Of course, that game is best known for Aaron Jones’ four touchdowns and 182 total yards. The quarterback wasn’t really needed as Jones was waving bye to defenders.

The following week of the 2019 season wasn’t elite by Rodgers’ standards either. In fact, Green Bay trailed the Detroit Lions by nine points with ten minutes to go in the fourth quarter. However, the team got its act together to pull out the win on a last-second field goal. It should be noted that 283 yards and two touchdowns isn’t bad.

In the remaining four starts Aaron Rodgers has made without Davante Adams, he threw for at least three touchdowns and 280 yards. It’s difficult to envision him not doing the same this week.

Rodgers first two games without Davante Adams were unquestionably his worst. Everything after that has been good. That likely had something to do with Matt LaFleur being in his first season as Green Bay Head Coach. It took a few tries for coach and the quarterback to get on the same page, but now both are comfortable playing without their star receiver.
