The college football season is less than a month away. After eight months of waiting, the sport we all love will be back. Of course, week 0 isn’t the most exciting action, but at least it is something. Before players take the field, we need to unveil The Touchback’s absolute best college football win-total bets for 2022.
Earlier this year, we rolled out our 2022 NFL win-total bets. Those were actually a little easier to select given just how much information is out there about the pro game. College is a different challenge with something as simple as finding an accurate depth chart almost impossible for some teams. Sure, there are countless fan sites out there, but their reports must be taken with a grain of salt.
However, that won’t stop us from releasing our 2022 college football win-total bets. Here are the overs and unders we have locked in this season.

The absolute best college football win-total bets for 2022
Texas O/U 8.5
The Bet: Under (-105)
Since losing in the 2009 National Championship Game, the Texas Longhorns have finished with more than eight wins in a season exactly once. That was the ill-fated Sam Ehlinger “We’re back” campaign of 2018. This is a classic case of sportsbooks setting a high O/U for a name brand knowing their fanbase is dumb enough to throw money at it.
Given everything we’ve seen from Texas over the past few years, there is nothing that leads us to believe they are winning nine times in 2022. Quarterback is a question mark with Quinn Ewers a total unknown. Their defense still has holes. And, for whatever reason, the Longhorns find ways to lose games they should win.
Bleak Future: Texas and Oklahoma face an irrelevant existence in the SEC
Kentucky O/U 7.5
The Bet: Over (-140)
The Kentucky Wildcats have a schedule that should see them reach eight wins with ease. They have three winnable non-conference matchups as well as a fourth against Louisville that isn’t particularly daunting. Meanwhile, the SEC East is underwhelming outside of Georgia while they avoid Alabama and Texas A&M in 2022.
Plus, Kentucky is a sneaky good team that won nine games last season. There is no reason why they can’t match that this year.
Washington State O/U 5.5
The Bet: Over (+105)
Death, taxes and Pac-12 teams beating each other over the course of the year are three constants in life. Look, it is easy to see why Vegas is a bit squeamish on Washington State in 2022. The Cameron Ward experiment is one of college football’s great mysteries. But the Cougars will easily win two of their three non-conference games.
All they need to do then is finish 4-5 in Pac-12 play. And that shouldn’t be difficult considering they face both Arizona schools this year along with the rest of the North Division.
Pac-12 Sadness: USC and UCLA leaving is probably good for Pac-12 football
Clemson O/U 10.5
The Bet: Under (+105)
Of the best college football win-total bets for 2022, most people will dismiss Clemson hitting the over at 10.5 as crazy. However, it’s really not all that outlandish. For starters, the Tigers still won ten games last season with one loss coming against Georgia, one loss coming against ACC champs Pitt and the other being an overtime contest against NC State. The media just made it feel as if they achieved less.
Additionally, Clemson’s schedule is an absolute cakewalk. It looks as if this will be a down year for the ACC in general. There isn’t anything worrisome outside of a road game against Notre Dame. Sure, the margin here is very narrow, but the Tigers finishing 11-1 or better is a very realistic outcome.
