With a weekend of games in the books, we now have a better lay of the land. So, while the results of the last few days were rough, we here at The Touchback are a little more bullish about our college football week 2 parlay.

For starters, we found a reasonable home underdog which, if you’ve read this column before, you know is our favorite thing when it comes to football betting. Beyond that, there are a lot of toss up matchups where the better team is the underdog because they are on the road.

Let’s stop wasting time with an explanation. Here is The Touchback’s college football week 2 parlay.

The Touchback’s college football week 2 parlay

Game 1

Tennessee Volunteers vs Pitt Panthers

The pick: Pitt +6.5 (-110)

A home underdog facing an overhyped giant with a loyal fanbase that will wager on any stupid line in support of their school. That is the best way to describe what this line is about. Maybe Tennessee is actually for real, but there is no point in betting on that until we see it. Pitt is awesome value to cover in this spot.

Game 2

Baylor Bears at BYU Cougars

The pick: Baylor to win (+145)

Last year BYU upset Utah, a tough defensive team with a solid offense. The physicality of Baylor will be unlike anything they have encountered since that contest against the Utes, and you could argue the Bears are better. They Cougars have enough talent to win this game on paper. But the value is taking Baylor to prevail as a slight road underdog.

Game 3

Virginia Cavaliers at Illinois Fighting Illini

The pick: Virginia to win (+165)

The Fighting Illini found a way to lose last week against Indiana. It was a really disjointed performance that exposed some flaws. Meanwhile, the Virginia Cavaliers are without question a better team than Illinois. They also seem to be unvalued this week because they let FCS Richmond hang around in their opener. Take them as an underdog here.

Game 4

Boston College Eagles at Virginia Tech Hokies

The pick: Boston College to win (+125)

Both these teams are coming off ugly losses last week but there is reason to think Boston College is positioned to win this matchup. Firstly, Rutgers is probably better than people are giving them credit for. Secondly, BC has the better quarterback and skill position players. It will most likely be a close contest, but the Eagles have more than enough to leave Lane Stadium victorious.

The payoff

Our college football week 2 parlay is going for broke checks in with odds of +2690. That means if you bet $10, you would win $279.02.
