Music Video Review: Bubba Sparxxx finds a new booty

Bubba Sparxxx finds a new booty
An awful song ruined some pretty good skits in this music video

By the time Bubba Sparxxx released Ms. New Booty, he found himself universally loathed outside the Dirty South. Black people didn’t like him because he was white. Suburban white kids didn’t like him because he was a redneck. He just couldn’t catch a break.

In many ways, the Ms. New Booty was a microcosm of his entire career. Some good undone by a lot of bad. The good here was the music video concept which is entertaining. And the bad is the song which is terrible.

I guess people in the south may have liked it. But, then again, they will dance to anything. As far as mainstream appeal, it had none. Which is a shame considering how great the video concept is. The intro, outro and random infomercial interludes are hilarious. Get rid of the song and give us more of that.

It’s important to note that this isn’t hating on Atlanta. But the difference in quality between this and something like You Gonna Luv Me by Da BackWudz is massive. Bubba Sparxxx may have found a new booty, but it wasn’t a nice one.

Bubba Sparxxx finds a new booty and makes bad music

Who thought it was a good idea to have a siren going off constantly during this song? Bubba Sparxxx raps on Ms. New Booty are barely audible because of the constant sirens drowning everyone out. What does that sound even have to do with big butts, anyway?

But wait, there’s more. The Ying Yang Twins decided to whisper on this track one year after releasing The Whisper Song. Nothing like recycling your own gimmick on a guest appearance. Ms. New Booty is a brutal rap song.
