More Pac-12: Pac 12 stadium rankings: A collection of beautiful college football venues
The matchup between Auburn and Cal was likely the last time a Pac-12 school hosts an SEC program. While that was odd, I left Cal Memorial Stadium after the game with a much different takeaway. Namely, Auburn fans are dumb.
Oklahoma and Ohio State have terrible fanbases. But Auburn fans are next level dumb. Three things stood out after interacting with them in person. First, the level of pearl-clutching, sheltered nonsense they spew is beyond belief. All they do is gossip and act as if they are somehow above it all.
Second, why does every Auburn fan look like their mom dressed them for the game? The amount of tucked-in polo shirts and country club attire makes absolutely no sense. You’re going to a football game, maybe leave the sports coat at home.
Seriously, Auburn fans look like a bunch of poindexters despite the fact none of them are particularly well educated and a degree from Auburn isn’t worth the paper it is written on.
Third, Auburn fans rambled on about how they weren’t impressed with Cal Memorial Stadium or Cal’s traditions. The stadium is 100 years old and has some fantastic views. It’s not like this is some expansion team. Sorry Cal fans don’t want to wear their Sunday’s finest to a football game or listen to you prattle on and on about your crappy team.
As annoying as all of this was, Auburn’s obsession with Alabama was perhaps the worst thing about this. As their beloved Tigers trailed to a pretty bad Cal Golden Bears team for most of the evening, all these morons would talk about was Alabama losing.
Come on people, Alabama was not playing in this game. A college football game which you spent a crazy amount of money to watch. They aren’t even playing in the same time zone. Focus on your own team for crying out loud. If your entire life and reason to be is tied up with another school losing, it is time to reevaluate things. Then again, you live in a state where incest is a very real concern and where people were happy to vote for some old pedophile, so that is a pretty big ask now that I think about it.
