Millennium Hilton Bangkok review
Location: Chao Phraya River, Bangkok
What’s tolerable:
- Good views of the river
- Food was amazing
- No key card power
On the downside:
- It’s old despite renovations
- Poor channel selection
Full disclaimer, this Millennium Hilton Bangkok review was done while the hotel was practicing COVID-19 safety measures. All the facilities were closed and there was only one restaurant open. The only reason me and my wife stayed here was because of a special Stay Safe package they were offering to local residents.
For like US$72 a night, we got three meals a day, free Wi-Fi and two pieces of laundry cleaned. Not bad for any Hilton property.
As for the Millennium Hilton Bangkok, it’s kind of an icon in the Thai capital. Located right on the river, a UFO-looking rooftop bar makes it easily identifiable. The hotel has its own shuttle boat and shopping arcade. And while it used to tower over the neighborhood, these days the property looks fairly average next to the massive ICONSIAM shopping center and Magnolias Waterfront Residences, one of Thailand’s tallest buildings.

The food at the hotel was freaking good. I was a bit skeptical when I heard that Millennium Hilton Bangkok Stay Safe package meals were served bento box-style. Honestly, I thought the quality would be average and the portions small.
However, it was basically like three meals of room service each day. Breakfasts were huge, the Thai dinners were outstanding and all the lunch options impressed. The food and beverage at Millennium Hilton Bangkok definitely get a thumbs up.
The beds and bathrooms are exactly what you’d expect from a Hilton. The Wi-Fi was fast and the workspace large. The views of the river are very nice from your room. The only real downside was a limited selection of television channels. There are your standard news options, a handful of sports channels with no good sports and one channel that seemingly showed nothing but American Ninja Warrior.

But is it any good?
It is good. There is probably no better spot along the Chao Phraya River than Millennium Hilton Bangkok. It’s easy to get around and ICONSIAM is right next door. There is also a street market nearby if you want something more authentic. That being said, the hotel is older, and you will see some signs of wear and tear. It wasn’t a big deal for me, but you may notice.
Tip: Your room will have two types of water in it: Evian and Singha. The Singha bottled water is complimentary, but the Evian is not.
