NBA All-Stars, and former Georgia Tech point guards, Stephon Marbury and Kenny Anderson show up to play some hoops against the Terror Squad’s Fat Joe and Cuban Link while their boss watches from a park bench. That is the setup for the Big Pun Watcha Gonna Do music video. It’s simple but the video is cool as hell to watch. A good song and fun premise highlight this underrated video.
Song: Watcha Gonna Do
Artist: Big Pun
Year: 1999
Quote it:
“We reign supreme, my team be all up in your dream
with the kill anything grill, chillin’ beside the GUILLOTINE”
Best Video Moment: Fat Joe getting pants by Stephon Marbury as the two professionals dominate the first half of the game.
Really Big Pun, Watcha Gonna Do?
This music video highlights the best and worst of what Big Pun was. The good: he was an underrated MC. His style isn’t really found anymore and he probably doesn’t get enough credit. The bad: he was really fat and it kind of took away from the entire package. I mean he doesn’t do anything in this video besides sit on a park bench. It is one thing to be fat, but by this stage of his life Big Pun was at the Rascal Scooter size.

Bad teammates
The pairing of Anderson and Marbury from a basketball perspective would not have worked. The problem is they are both kind of ball dominate point guards who were not exactly known for playing defense. It’s probably why they lost.
Props, however, for the lack of nets on the hoop. It added a level of realism sometimes lost in music videos. We have all balled on courts that only had rims and it seems unlikely that this court under a bridge would have been gifted such a luxury.
