College football betting picks for week 3: Picking a parlay with upside

College football betting picks for week 3 D'Eriq King Miami
Despite crushing Louisville last season and having a better QB this year, Miami are underdogs

We did horribly with our college football wagers last week. That’s because we bet on the Big 12. Kansas and Iowa State crapped the bed in a big way, Texas came out all guns blazing and Baylor didn’t even play. Yikes! At least we got Georgia Tech right. Our college football betting picks for week 3 will hopefully serve us a little better.

We are going with moneyline wagers this week due to the fairly limited slate on deck. And as we are wont to do, we will actually be parlaying our college football betting picks for week 3. At the end of the article you can find our wager and potential payout. Of course, you can wager on the games individually if you are so inclined.

The Touchback’s college football betting picks for week 3

Navy (+215) vs Tulane

It’s hard to forget BYU sinking Navy by 52 points, but the Midshipmen provide some value here. Tulane didn’t look all that great in their win against South Alabama and struggled to pass the ball. Plus, you have to imagine Navy will come out strong after that debacle on Labor Day. Games between these two teams tend to be close which makes Navy at +6.5 a safer bet, but we’re taking the risk on the moneyline.

Miami (+110) vs Louisville

This is a toss up game so the value here is on Miami at +110. Louisville is the favorite and while they are good, the Cardinals did get blown away 52-27 by the Hurricanes last season. Have they really improved enough to close that gap? Meanwhile, Miami didn’t look all that impressive against UAB last week, but D’Eriq King and company should step it up for College Gameday.

SMU (-550) vs. North Texas

SMU should beat North Texas. However, it’s hard to take them against the spread with the line at -14. In theory, the Mustangs should clear that total. However, since this is a parlay, it makes more sense to play it safe here.

College football betting picks for week 3 – Parlay total $10 to win $68.18

Not the biggest payday in the world, but a solid Saturday slate of college football wagers assuming Navy’s game against BYU was a fluke.
