DeAndre Hopkins has a positive fantasy football outlook for 2023, although his floor is lower than in previous years. The future Hall of Famer will be playing for the Tennessee Titans after reaching an agreement with the franchise and while some may be worried about his quarterback play, that isn’t really a concern. Look, Ryan Tannehill or Will Levis throwing him passes this season doesn’t inspire confidence.
However, Hopkins posted massive numbers in 2015 with Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett, T.J. Yates and Brandon Weeden taking turns under center. More recently, the wide receiver maintained solid production when Colt McCoy took over from an injured Kyler Murray last season. His touchdown numbers cratered but he was still getting 10+ points a game most weeks.
In many ways, that performance mirrors DeAndre Hopkins’ fantasy football outlook for 2023. He should, by far and away, lead the Titans in targets, receptions and receiving yards by a good margin. It’s hard to see another pass catcher on this team getting more than five targets a game. Sorry, Treylon Burks. The quality of his stats is something to keep an eye.
His ceiling is likely to be around 100 catches, 1,000 receiving yards and seven or so touchdowns. This is not elite by any means but is still solid production that doesn’t exactly grow on fantasy football trees. As for Hopkins’ floor…well…look out below.

DeAndre Hopkins fantasy football outlook 2023 concerns
Two things drag down DeAndre Hopkins fantasy football outlook for 2023. Firstly, he hasn’t played anywhere near close to an entire season since 2020. Between suspensions and injuries, the wide receiver has missed 15 games over the last two campaigns after only sitting out two contests during the first eight seasons of his career.
Perhaps more worrisome is the case of Julio Jones. While the Falcons’ legend was a year older than Hopkins when he signed with the Tennessee Titans, the pair has some similarities. That is certainly concerning.
It is possible Hopkins is on his way out of the NFL and fails to produce for his new team due to some combination of poor quarterback play, injury, ill-fitting system and declining skills. This is why if you draft him, make sure it is nothing more than a flex at best. Anything more is too risky.
