Updated 2020 NFL win-total lines have been released in what is likely to be the last major change before training camps. That is if they begin at all. In April, we took a look at some of the most interesting overs and unders. But now with the NFL draft concluded and schedule released, let’s see if anything changed in the world of football betting.

Green Bay Packers / Chicago Bears
In our first article, both the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears were at 8.5 wins. We recommended the over on the Packers and under for the Bears. There has been no movement on the latter, but the former’s win total is moving up. Despite a quarterback controversy, Green Bay’s line is now nine wins which always seemed about right. However, that also makes this bet far less appetizing.
As for Chicago, the odds on the under 8.5 wins aren’t great, -160 at William Hill. It’s still a good play unless you’re convinced Nick Foles is a guy who can take this team of below average talent to nine wins. We’re not believers.

Washington Redskins
The NFL win-total line for the Washington Redskins has risen from 4.5 to 5.5, completely ruining a good bet. As we mentioned in our earlier win-total article, Ron Rivera has won at least five games in every season he has coached. Factor in the additional talent the team added, and five wins seemed like a slam dunk. Six wins? It’s possible but comes with a lot of added risk.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
You know the story of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offseason by now and the hype train is full steam ahead. Of all the updated 2020 NFL win-total lines, this one continues to draw the most attention. It has settled at 9.5 wins with seemingly everyone taking the over. We say take the under.
Does no one remember the last time a “Dream Team” was assembled in the NFL? The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles started the season 1-4 and ended up finishing 8-8. It’s going to take time for the Buccaneers to put everything together and nine wins seems like the most realistic outcome for the team.
Updated 2020 NFL win-total lines quick thoughts
San Francisco 49ers (10.5 wins) – The Super Bowl hangover plus an improved NFC West means 11 wins aren’t likely. Take the under.
New York Giants (6.5 wins) – The defense still isn’t good, and the other NFC East teams improved during the offseason. Daniel Jones also remains on bust watch. Go with the under.
Denver Broncos (7.5 wins) – Denver closed 2019 by going 4-1 and has significantly improved via trades, free agency and the draft. Drew Lock is a wild card, but if Pittsburgh can win nine games with Devlin Hodges starting, the Broncos can get to eight wins in 2020. Take the over all day.
