If we glance out over the NFL landscape, picking a way too early Super Bowl LVIII winner to bet on was actually easier than we imagined. The Jacksonville Jaguars at +2500 is a no-brainer, especially considering the Detroit Lions are getting the same odds.

There are three reasons the Jaguars are our way too early Super Bowl LVIII winner to bet on. First, their path to the playoffs is perhaps the easiest in football. The AFC South has two, and maybe even three, teams in various stages of a rebuild. They also get to square off against the NFC South in 2023 which gives them ten very winnable games along with contests against the Steelers and Browns.

Second, Trevor Lawrence should continue to improve in his second season in Doug Pederson’s offense. And with Calvin Ridley in the fold, Jacksonville’s offense should be among the best in football.

Finally, the offseason losses of Jawaan Taylor and Arden Key may not be as big of a deal as oddsmakers think. They are good players, but the Jaguars have younger players in both positions ready to step up. There is a chance that neither player leaving is a big deal.

Jacksonville now has playoff experience in addition to showing they can play with the NFL’s best. They hung tough in two games against Kansas City, upset the Chargers twice and beat Dallas. That can serve them well this season.

In many ways, the Jaguars compare favorably to the Philadelphia Eagles who traded for A.J. Brown, made some under-the-radar signings and built upon a solid foundation to make a Super Bowl run in 2022. If you’re picking a way too early Super Bowl LVIII winner to bet on, Jacksonville at +2500 is worth a punt.
