When it comes to sports betting, sometimes the most obvious wager is the one you should place. There won’t be many times in life when you get to wager on Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs as an underdog. Especially considering they probably shouldn’t be one in the first place. If you glance at the Philadelphia Eagles scores without watching their games, maybe this line makes sense.

However, context is important when you look at this year’s NFL playoffs. Sure, the Eagles blew out the Giants and 49ers but let’s read between the lines. New York was a sixth seed and not nearly as good as some experts claim. They lucked into a super easy schedule as seven of their nine wins in 2022 came against sides that didn’t qualify for the postseason.

As for San Francisco, well, you aren’t going to win a game without a quarterback. Neither victory was a sign that Philadelphia is superior to the Chiefs. Also, Kansas City brushed aside a healthier 49ers side in the regular season anyway.

Which brings us to the injuries that Mahomes and Travis Kelce are dealing with. Both players will get two weeks of rest so even if they aren’t 100 percent come Super Bowl LVII, each one should be in better shape than in the team’s victory against Cincinnati.

If anything, it feels like people are simply bored with the Chiefs and that is why they are betting against them. Las Vegas has accordingly shifted the line to represent that. But there is no reason to follow this trend.

At the end of the day, taking the Kansas City Chiefs on the moneyline is the best Super LVII bet you can make. Don’t fall for the trap being set by bored, box score bettors.
