The best potential NFL Week 1 parlay bet

NFL Week 1 parlay bet
Taking the Miami Dolphins over the New England Patriots is a must for any NFL Week 1 parlay bet

Finding a potential NFL Week 1 parlay bet is more about securing the odds most likely to change between now and September than scoping out anything else. There are three games in particular where the money lines don’t really make sense when you factor in everything. With that in mind, here’s what we’re thinking.

First, we’re not into grinding out a bunch of favorites. Sure, adding one or two to a parlay bet can help build better odds, but taking nine teams at -110 or whatever doesn’t move the needle. Plus, the payoff isn’t really worth the risk.

The Touchback’s NFL Week 1 parlay bet pick

Game 1

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots
The pick: Miami to win +240

This matchup is one we saw in Week 17 of last season with the Dolphins upsetting the Pats. So, what’s changed in 2020? Well, New England lost Tom Brady and has arguably gotten worse during the offseason. Meanwhile, Miami upgraded its roster and looks to be improving. This is a good value pick on its own, but also a nice start to building a strong NFL Week 1 parlay bet.

Game 2

Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Giants
The pick: New York to win +162

Home underdogs are always a solid way to go when putting together a parlay bet. The Giants aren’t particularly good, but neither are the Steelers at this point in time. Pittsburgh still has a ton of question marks on the offensive side of the ball including Ben Roethlisberger. The Giants should have enough offensively to make it a game.

Game 3

Los Angeles Chargers at Cincinnati Bengals
The pick: Cincinnati to win +148

Another home underdog closes out this parlay. Both teams struggled in 2019 and the Chargers are heading into the season with the underwhelming Tyrod Taylor under center. More importantly, why not bet on Joe Burrow to win here in his first game with the Cincinnati Bengals?

The payoff

Taking the underdog in these three games gets you odds of +2109. That means if you bet $10 you would win $210.90. Sure, this NFL Week 1 parlay bet is a long shot, but all three picks offer good value at the moment.
