The Touchback’s college football week 8 parlay

We are betting on both Oregon and Ohio State in week 8

Bye weeks and a lack of marquee matchups makes our college football week 8 parlay kind of boring. All you need to know about the upcoming slate of games is that College Gameday is going visiting unranked UCLA as they take on Oregon. I mean there is not bigger Pac-12 homer than me and I can’t even justify that decision.

Then again, the week’s other matchups don’t exactly get you pumped up. Notre Dame honks will claim their matchup against USC is big and ACC Network talking heads will try to sell you on Clemson playing Pitt. But nothing screams must watch.

The only redeeming quality is that you can bet on the games. And that brings us to The Touchback’s college football week 8 parlay. Odds via Fanduel Sportsbook.

The Touchback’s college football week 8 parlay

Kansas State (-104) at Texas Tech

Kansas State is a marginal underdog against Texas Tech in a contest featuring two sides we still don’t know all that much about. The Wildcats have lost three straight games, but those came against Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Iowa State, three of the best teams in the Big XII. They played well for the most part and almost upset the Sooners.

Texas Tech has four wins but also let Texas hang a 70 spot on them. The Red Raiders haven’t looked all that good in 2021 despite their record and with Skylar Thompson getting healthier, Kansas State is the play.

Wisconsin at Purdue (+136)

Sure, Purdue could suffer a letdown after their upset of Iowa last week. But has anyone bothered watching Wisconsin play in 2021? The Badgers are extremely one note. If you stop the run, you stop them. And Purdue is 30th in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game.

Look, the Boilermakers probably aren’t going to pick off four passes again, but they will likely force a few takeaways. Wisconsin is -11 in turnover margin on the year. All things considered, Purdue shouldn’t be the underdog here. Take them if it’s available.

Oregon (+110) at UCLA

Poor quarterback play and discipline issues have hurt Oregon all season. But let’s not pretend UCLA is a threat. The only way the Bruins win is if the Ducks shoot themselves in the foot again. And while that’s possible, taking the more talented team with a “+” by their odds is never a bad idea.

Ohio State -19.5 (-115) at Indiana

Ohio State is annihilating teams having won by 52, 39 and 49 points in their past three games. Indiana hasn’t scored more than 15 points in any of their three conference clashes this season. All signs point to the Buckeyes in a blowout.

Parlay Total: Bet $10 to win $171.75

There aren’t any big-ticket underdogs to increase our parlay payout in week 8. However, these four games all look like solid wagers on paper.
