The Touchback’s NFL Wild Card Weekend parlay

Wild Card Weekend parlay
Seattle may not win, but they should cover the 9.5 point spread

We nailed our NFL week 18 parlay banking a cool $204.50 in the process. Sure, it took some luck, including a major backdoor cover by the shorthanded New York Giants, but a win is a win. And with some newfound money in our pocket, it is time to announce The Touchback’s NFL Wild Card Weekend parlay.

Before we jump into our picks, let’s start with some methodology. It is much harder to find underdogs for value during the playoffs. If you’re expecting a huge payout, as we came up with in the regular season, you are out of luck.

On the surface, our NFL Wild Card Weekend parlay might seem conservative, but we are realists. There is no point wagering on results we don’t think will happen.

The Touchback’s NFL Wild Card Weekend parlay

Game 1

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers

The pick: Seahawks to cover +9.5 (-110)

On paper, this looks like it will be a low-scoring contest which bodes well for the Seahawks covering. These teams met in December with the 49ers winning 21-13. A similar score line is the most likely result. Another interesting tidbit to note. Of Seattle’s eight losses in 2022, only two were by double digits.

Game 2

Dallas Cowboys at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The pick: Tampa Bay to win (+120)

Which one of the following would you bet on: The Cowboys, who are 3-10 in the playoffs since 1998, or Tom Brady and his 35-12 postseason record? Hell, Brady had more playoff victories in 2021 alone than Dallas had racked up in 23 years. Go with Tampa Bay as a underdog.

Game 3

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills

The pick: Bills to cover -13 (-105)

Tua Tagovailoa has already been ruled out with the Dolphins planning to start Skylar Thompson in his place. The Bills hung 32 on Miami in week 15 and may be even better. Everything points to a massive blowout here.

The payoff

Our NFL Wild Card Weekend parlay features odds of +702. That means if you bet $10, you would win $70.20. We told you not to expect a lot this time around.
