Cameo is awesome. It’s really cool to have a celebrity, musician or athlete film a shout out. Most of them at least put in a little effort when doing it which is nice. That being said, the platform does have a few bad apples. And the absolute worst of Cameo are Tom Arnold and Kevin McDonald.
Look, not everyone on Cameo can be Chris Hansen. He knows exactly what people want, and he delivers it. Tom Arnold and Kevin McDonald do the exact opposite. They offer up these weird and oftentimes uncomfortable videos that can be hard to sit through.
It really is the worst of Cameo. I don’t care how many 5-star reviews they have or how many positive comments are on their page. People are stupid. The proof is in the pudding and the pudding in this case is their Cameos.
One thing to note, we aren’t including lookalikes or random no-name people pretending to be celebrities. These scrubs are bad, but no one should be buying their Cameos in the first place.

The worst of Cameo: Tom Arnold
The problem with Tom Arnold on Cameo is that he just can’t wrap it up. Everything is a stream-of-consciousness rant where the former Roseanne star careens wildly from topic to topic until he tires himself out. He’s not riffing. He’s not doing bits. It’s just him talking and probably not listening to himself. What is this?
It’s not available anymore, but there was a Cameo up last year where Arnold went on for five minutes. The video was supposed to be a happy birthday greeting, but it always comes back to him. Every Cameo he does is mostly him talking about himself. Hopefully someone reboots The Best Damn Sports Show Period, so Arnold has some other creative outlet.

The worst of Cameo: Kevin McDonald
I feel the need to hug my wife and count my blessings every time I watch a Cameo from Kevin McDonald. They are just so sad and depressing. It almost feels like he’s out there street performing. Like Arnold, his videos go on a really long with very little rhyme or reason. Some of these are painfully long. This is just brutal to watch. So is this. All of them are like it.
I once saw a McDonald Cameo that went over seven minutes. People only get 200 words to make their request. There is no reason to stretch out it for over seven minutes. Also, you get the feeling people who request a Cameo from McDonald are doing more out of pity than actually wanting one. It’s kind of like they are fans of Kids in the Hall and want to support him.
