What is Marshall law? It’s what scrotum-chugging conservatives like Ralph Norman and Marjorie Taylor Greene think martial law is called. No seriously, multiple Republicans trying to overturn the election didn’t even know how to spell martial. And we are supposed to believe these knuckleheads are somehow educated enough to be in Congress?
Also, let’s get something out of the way right now. Marshall is not an autocorrect for martial. And while both start with “mar”, things turn wildly different after that. Norman has tried to claim it was a misspelling. Between spouting nonsense and getting gangbanged at her CrossFit gym in Georgia, Taylor Greene hasn’t had time to come up with an excuse.
Regardless, it seems unlikely that either one knew that Marshall law was not a thing. That’s because conservatives are completely and utterly uneducated about basic American civics.
So, what exactly is Marshall law?
It is simply further proof that the Republican party is nothing but a bunch of political science frat bros and sorority enablers. They think they’re experts because they took one class on the subject freshman year and talked a lot during it.
Even worse, they learned a few terms during that first class and proceeded to parrot them for the rest of their time in college. In nearly every case, they don’t actually understand what the term means or can’t pronounce it. That is where you get stuff like Marshall law.
Back in the day, these clowns would graduate with their poli-sci degrees and go work at their dad’s car lot or real estate agency. You know, professions that require no talent, education or critical thinking skills assuming you can talk loudly and appear foolishly confident.
That changed in the 2000s with the Tea Party which allowed these mouth breathers a pathway into US politics. Knowledge of American civics isn’t required in today’s Republican party. Nor is respect or common decency. Logic be damned as long as you can shout insane, hypocritical talking points over and over again.
It is why Josh Hawley can be gay while claiming their lifestyle is immoral. It’s why Matt Gaetz and Elon Musk can diddle kids. The less said about how Marjorie Taylor Greene funds her campaign, the better.
Of course, conservatives don’t know the difference between Marshall law and martial law. They have a tenuous grasp of American civics. Most probably want to defund the Electoral College because it teaches critical race theory.
