This has got to be one of the weirdest years for quarterbacks entering the NFL Draft. That is not great news if you’re looking to take a signal caller in your dynasty fantasy football league. So, where should you draft the 2022 rookie QBs?
Let’s start with some advice. If you have a chance to flip your draft picks into a proven passer or at least one with upside, do it. Kick the tires on Zach Wilson and see if he is someone you can buy low on. The same goes for Tua Tagovailoa. Checking on Deshaun Watson isn’t the worst idea if your team is still a season or two away from competing.
Should there be no deal available, then it’s time to explore where should you draft the 2022 rookie QBs.

Where should you draft the 2022 rookie QBs in dynasty fantasy football leagues?
Malik Willis
2nd Round
Given how deep wide receiver looks to be this year and the fact there are always surprise rookie running backs who produce, such as Elijah Mitchell and Khalil Herbert last season, you could make a case to snag Malik Willis in the late first round of dynasty fantasy football league drafts.
He has all the tools to be a QB1 for years to come and could be a better pro than Lamar Jackson. Seriously, look at these deep throws. However, Willis has major question marks about just how he will handle pressure in the NFL. And if you can’t handle pressure in the pocket, you’re pretty much toast. All things considered, the upside is worth the risk in the second round.
Kenny Pickett
4th Round
The hand-size issues surrounding Kenny Pickett aren’t a concern. However, the three seasons of middling production as a starter at Pitt are very troubling. Had he not been granted the extra season of COVID eligibility for 2021, the quarterback probably isn’t playing football right now. Of course, he did get that extra year and made the most of it.
Ultimately, there have been countless signal callers over the years who have posted one great season in college only to fizzle out at the next level. The fact it took Pickett four seasons to do something of note is a huge red flag. Anything before the fourth round is a reach.
Matt Corral/Sam Howell
3rd Round
For Matt Corral and Sam Howell, it all comes down to what team drafts them. Both have major flaws as well as a lot of upside should they land in the right situation. Think Dak Prescott being selected by the Cowboys or Russell Wilson finding his way to Seattle. You can probably see the issue with this. Those were mid-round picks taken by teams that had some talent.
Corral and Howell will likely be first round rookies on teams that have major holes. That being said, if either passer were able to land in Tampa Bay, Indianapolis or, maybe, Denver, they could easily thrive in both real and fantasy football.
Desmond Ridder/Carson Strong/Bailey Zappe
Do Not Draft
Despite some early hype, this trio failed to move the needle at the NFL Combine. Additionally, each quarterback has major question marks surrounding their future. If you can grab one as a free agent taxi squad stash, by all means go for it. But there should be more valuable players available during your dynasty fantasy football league rookie draft.
