Anyway, the Seahawks path to the NFL playoffs isn’t a gimmie, but it also looks far less daunting today than at the start of the season. Tampa Bay and Las Vegas are winnable matchups; Carolina is bad; the Jets have overachieved; and the four division contests, including a pair against the Rams, won’t scare them. They’ll probably lose to the Chiefs, though.
Going 5-4 over the rest of the season most likely sees them make the postseason given the fact nine wins was enough to qualify in 2021. Of course, that is only part of the challenge to paying off this wager.

Look, Geno Smith isn’t winning the NFL MVP this season. But he doesn’t need to considering how weak the NFC is. Outside of the Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle is just as good as any other team in the conference. And, as we know, the best team doesn’t always advance in the playoffs.
Nor do you need a great or even good quarterback to make it to the Super Bowl. The 49ers got there with Jimmy Garoppolo in 2019 and almost made it again last season with him at the helm. In 2018, a Jared Goff-led Rams team reached the big game. The way Seattle is playing around Smith, it’s plausible this happens.

If you are willing to take on some risk, then yes, you should absolutely bet on the Seattle Seahawks to win the NFC at +2300. Especially considering the odds of other contenders. The Cowboys are +650 and Vikings +700. For some odd reason, Tampa Bay sits at +1100.
None of those teams is significantly better than the Seahawks. And that makes them a great value in this spot. Let’s also not forget about what the Cincinnati Bengals accomplished in 2021. They went 5-4 to open the season, and no one pegged them as Super Bowl contenders. We all know what happened there.
