Yahoo Fantasy Football announced improvements for 2020. Some of the innovations will be welcomed by the fantasy football community while others will be met with shoulder shrugs or groans.
What’s in store for the upcoming season? Let’s take a look at the Yahoo Fantasy Football improvements for 2020 already revealed by the company.

The Good
Presenter mode
Finally! Yahoo Fantasy Football has created a presenter mode for the draft which will allow for some to open up a general draft window and cast it to a large screen. This is perfect for commissioners who host home league draft parties. Currently, a manager has to cast their screen which makes it impossible to hide what you’re planning or who you’re starring. Of all the Yahoo Fantasy Football improvements for 2020, this is the best.
Hide draft picks in chat
This makes the good list, but only sticks here if it applies to mock and public league drafts. According to Yahoo, it will now be possible to filter out player picks from the draft chat. Currently the draft chat is cluttered with the announcement every pick which makes it near impossible to hold a conversation. If you have ever enjoyed a late night public or mock draft, these chats get pretty wild. However, the mudslinging gets lost in the shuffle by the constant stream of picks spamming chatbox.
The Bad
Fractional scoring on field goals
Who was asking for this? There are some good Yahoo Fantasy Football improvements for 2020, but this ain’t one of them. Here’s how it works: Instead of field goals being assigned points based on yard range, you can now change it, so every yard counts in scoring. So, a 31-yard field goal will be scored as 3.1 points while a 39 yarder is 3.9 points. This is going to piss off some fantasy football managers who lose by a tenth of a point.
The Meh
Dark mode
Some people love dark mode, but it’s hardly a gamechanger.
Best ball is back
I did like 20 best ball leagues last season, but you totally forget about them because they aren’t integrated into the rest of the Yahoo Fantasy Football setup. Best ball returning isn’t exciting unless Yahoo has some more plans for it.
