This is why sanctions don’t work as a form of diplomacy

FYI: Megyn Kelly is 5'6 and clearly taller than Vladimir Putin. Earl Boykins would tower over him

With Russia callously and frankly, ineffectively attacking Ukraine, we are seeing firsthand why sanctions don’t work as a form of diplomacy. But before we get into that, can we talk about how pathetic western leaders look at the moment?

Seriously, there is nothing as lame as (Insert Any Western Leader’s Name Here) taking to Twitter to condemn Russia and mentioning “powerful” sanctions. These are about as credible as when a substitute teacher threatens to send you to the vice principal’s office for acting up in class. Firstly, you know they won’t. Secondly, even if he or she did, the vice principal isn’t going to waste their time with this.

Don’t get too excited MAGA fanboys and other moronic conservatives. If Donald Trump was president, he would have handed Ukraine to Vladimir Putin while letting the Russian leader piss all over him. That’s because the failed businessman is a despot that admires dictators because he is afraid of anything resembling competition.

Let’s put this another way, if you think Trump is a real American or a patriot or would have prevented this, fuck you. Sorry, this wording is not strong enough. FUUUUCK YOU. Go have fun on that new social media platform that will undoubtably become a hub of gay hookups and pedophiles. We’re looking at you Josh Hawley and Matt Gaetz.

Here’s why sanctions don’t work as a form of diplomacy

Do you want to know why sanctions don’t work as a form of diplomacy? The answer is easy. Leaders of countries that are bad actors could care less about the people they represent. If they did, they wouldn’t be in charge to begin with since citizens already hate their guts or have been brainwashed by endless propaganda.

If sanctions worked as a form of diplomacy, Kim Jong-un wouldn’t still be firing off missiles in North Korea. Nor would the Myanmar military be allowed to murder its own citizens. Nor would Russia have attacked Ukraine in the first place.

For too long, western leaders have responded to global bullies as if they are rational actors. That is stupid. Xi Jinping is not a rational leader and he sure as hell doesn’t care about the Chinese people. The same goes for Putin and the Russian population.

Assuming these dictators will act rationally in the diplomatic arena is naïve at best and a very real threat to democracy at worst. Seemingly everyone but the leaders of western countries seem to comprehend why sanctions don’t work as a form of diplomacy.

Instead of sounding like a bunch of collective bitches with your talk of sanctions, how about you start standing up to those undermining freedom and democracy?
