If you have an empty IR spot on your fantasy football roster, you need to add N’Keal Harry roster and put him in it right now.
If you are already holding someone like Michael Thomas, Darrynton Evans or Will Fuller in your IR spot, then ignore this entire article. This isn’t for you. You’re cool.
This is for anyone sitting on an empty IR spot. If fantasy football truly is a game of inches, then this would be your initial scramble.

Cam Newton was holding him back

N’Keal Harry was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft, but has been invisible as a pro. He finished with only 12 receptions in his first season and 33 in his second. At this point, it is fairly accurate to call him a bust.
But the reason for this is almost certainly Cam Newton’s poor passing. Newton only threw eight touchdowns during the 2020 NFL season. It’s impossible for anyone to thrive in that kind of environment.
Add in a few injuries that plagued Harry to start his career, and it’s easy to understand why this dynamic receiver hasn’t seen much success…yet.
Mac Jones to the rescue

With Cam Newton out of the picture in New England, the reigns have been handed to Mac Jones. During the 2021 preseason, Mac Jones looked like a dynamic passer and playmaker. Or in other words, exactly the type of quarterback that could revive N’Keal Harry’s career.
Harry recently changed jersey numbers. Is this a symbolic representation of new gridiron opportunity for the first round WR? Probably not… but you never know!

N’Keal Harry on IR = Nothing to lose
In short, it costs you nothing to add N’Keal Harry to your IR.
He will become available in after recovering from his shoulder injury which will come as bye weeks kick in. It’s entirely possible that he will remain a bust and you can drop him later, but he does have the support of Bill Belichick. Additionally, first round WRs have a long history of winning fantasy leagues so he is certainly worth a vacant IR spot.
